Bayviews Burnie Dockers
The Bayviews Burnie Dockers were established in 1994 when the Burnie Hawks and Burnie Tigers Football Clubs amalgamated as one, in the state-wide League. At the end of the 2000 State-wide League season all clubs went back to local football with the Burnie Dockers joining the Northern Tasmanian Football League.
The Dockers have been a force to reckon with, winning senior premierships in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and reserves in 1996, 1998, 2001 and 2004. The Fremantle Football Club formed an alliance with the Burnie Football Club in 1995 and it was formalised in November of 2005. The synergy between the Fremantle Football Club and the Burnie Dockers are obvious. Not only are there similarities in terms of the uniforms that the clubs wear, but in terms of their ethos and philosophy as sporting organisations, not to mention both work in port based cities.
