100 entrants in the Nu-Gen Youth Carnival
Burnie Sports and Events and the Burnie Athletic Club announced today that the Nu-Gen Youth Carnival for New Years Day has attracted over 100 entrants in its first year and is set to inject fresh energy into the 125th CAT Underground New Years Day Carnival.
In further news for the Nu-Gen Carnival, Burnie Sports and Events Sponsorship Manager Martyn Fishwick also announced that the carnival had received an added boost with the announcement of a naming rights event partner, The Adam Brooks Group.
The Adam Brooks Group Nu-Gen carnival is a new initiative of the Burnie Athletics Club and Burnie Sports and Events, designed to bring talented young athletes between the ages of 10 and 16 from around the state, to compete in a range of running events at a top class venue and in front of a large crowd.
Mr Fishwick said, “These young athletes, both boys and girls, are the future of the Burnie Carnival and both the Burnie Athletics Club and Burnie Sports and Events want to ensure that the youth in the community are all encouraged to continue with their participation in some type of sport. We are grateful for the support shown to this new event by The Adam Brooks Group.
“The Adam Brooks Group also knows that the survival of the carnivals will come from events like this, ensuring that youth in the area are involved in sporting activities that tie into the carnival. The Adam Brooks Group is a generous supporter of youth based events along the North West Coast.”
